“Systemic and Structural Barriers to Achieving Gender Equality which perpetuate and entrench discrimination against women include: 1. Patriarchy and the rise of authoritarian governance; 2. Militarism; 3. Neo-liberalism, Trade Agreements and Corporate Influence; 4. Land and resource threats”.

In response to the highlighted systemic and structural barriers points, Nalini Singh (Fiji Women’s Rights Movement) delivered her combined statement on behalf of the Women’s Major Group, during the MOI session on SDG 5, 5th Meeting of the High-level Political Forum, held in New York, on 12th July, at the UNHQ.
